About District South
District South aims for a responsive, transparent administration to establish a productive, creative and healthy work culture.
The number of students in District South is 99690 with 3803 teachers. The Student Classroom Ration (SCR) is 43 : 1 and the Teacher Student Ratio (TSR) is 26 : 1. There is 01 ATL (Atal Tinkering Labs) in District South.
All schools have 'pucca' building with conducive ambience, enriching learning environment, good sized and well-ventilated rooms, high standards of cleanliness, updated and resourceful libraries, well equipped labs with committed and dedicated staff to fully utilise the available resources.
District South has all the streams i.e. Science, Commerce, Humanities & Vocational in its schools for the students to opt for. We also have NSQF in many of our schools.
There is very effective coordination between Government Schools, Public Schools and Aided Schools of District South. There is a lot of participation and cooperation by the public schools in various zonal level co-curricular activities and athletic meet .In fact a lot of public schools are venues for athletic and sports events. All schools including public and aided are motivated and supported by the zone and district authorities to perform better and they are recommended from time to time for various awards if applied by them.
To overcome the current crisis of Covid-19 and the resulting closure of schools we are channelising our time, energy and efforts to best utilize the resources available so that the process of learning does not come to a standstill. District South stands tall today as pioneer of many initiatives such as online classes through Zoom or Google Meet; WhatsApp group of all faculties to keep the subject teachers abreast with new initiatives; Regular online meetings of all faculties through Zoom app with District officials also attending the same to guide and counsel; online study material for students; PTMs through Google Meet etc. to help every stakeholder during these difficult times.
District South is committed to provide quality education and works incessantly to improve its performance. Due to the hard work of all stakeholders involved our results have considerably improved. The QI of Class XII has increased from 291.48 (2017-18) to 309.72 (2018-19), a significant increase of +18.24.The pass percentage has also increased from 93.89 (2017-18) to 96.08 (2018-19). We rank 7th amongst all districts in terms of pass percentage.
The result of Class X has also improved. QI has increased from 251.81 (2017-18) to 258.05 (2018-19) .The pass percentage has also increased from 71.11 (2017-18) to 71.55 (2018-19).
Culture of creativity and innovation emanate from our classrooms. We zealously work to open up new vistas of knowledge and new dimensions of imagination to be instrumental in growth of our students as empowered and enlightened citizens.
